What was your first job?
My first job was as a dealer in the stock markets during a transformative time when credit systems were being introduced. My role involved taking orders over the telephone and passing them down to the trading floor. It was an exciting period, as I witnessed the transition from traditional outcry systems to computerized trading, which revolutionized market reach and efficiency.
What excites you about financial technology today?
I had started my career in the Financial service sector at the same time when modernisation was setting in. Computerisation replaced the old book keeping systems, Out-cry trading system was replaced by screen-based trading, private networks, VPN, etc. Suddenly the reach, accessibility and efficiency of the Financial Markets grew exponentially. The modern-day Fintech is free of Geographical boundaries and lot more transparent and efficient.
Where do you see financial technology and finance evolving in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5 years the technology as well as the service would be instantaneous. 24/7 markets. Options to choose from multiple market/vendor/service providers on the go. Centralised database, the World shall be one big market.
What would people be surprised to learn about you?
People might be surprised to learn that I have a passion for singing and enjoy going on long drives. I’m also a nature lover and an avid photographer—capturing the beauty of the world is something I truly enjoy.
